A lawyer has commented that in this case it is ironic that Western Police Station remanded Park Si Hoo for rape, semi-rape, and injuries-caused-by-rape without physical detention.  These are all serious crimes and carry at least 5 – 10 years imprisonment.  “Prosecuting a suspect without physical detention would be interpreted as a lack of confidence in the investigation.  At the core of the case is whether the prosecutors accept the authenticity of  A’s claims, and whether they would re-investigate is worthy of attention”, he said.
