PSH case: The Buyeo perspective
This is a very long article in the magazine Women Chosun. We’re not going to translate it word for word but will just give you our interpretation. It contains references to certain elements we have not come across before (e.g. PSH’s grandparents) and since we have no way to verify these, we are only offering them here for your reference.
After meeting family in cottage in Buyeo with heartbreaking truth
That’s the title of the article. Yes, these relentless reporters have gone to Buyeo to track down PSH’s relatives to get them to talk about the case. They would do that, wouldn’t they? Anything to sell their magazine!
The article starts by outlining the Park Si Hoo case, that more than a month has passed. This case has attracted so much public interest and generated malicious rumors and comments. PSH has recently become so well loved with the warm reception of CDDA, but his image has received a deadly blow in this incident from which it is difficult for him to recover.
Then it goes on to discuss the B angle, the affidavit she has given to PSH’s lawyers after she was sued by PSH and Hwang of EYAGI.
The case has dragged on for more than one month, and PSH has lost 10 kg. and is worn out physically and mentally.
Last year on the SBS TV program “Healing Camp” it was revealed PSH came from the landed gentry of Buyeo. So their reporter decided to go to Buyeo to see his family and get the story from the villagers.
House of the landed gentry — Hanok home
It was not easy to get to the house, the one built by Park Si Hoo’s grandfather in the rural countryside located in front of the mountains. PSH attended elementary school 200m away from home, and his brother also attended secondary school not far from the house.
PSH’s ancestral home “Plum’s Landing” is a large hanok house about 10m vertical and 30m horizontal. There is a large pond, in addition to the main house and several outbuildings, including an outdoor toilet with separate features. It has the tranquil atmosphere of the old rural houses.
The house has no boundaries, so anyone can explore it. In the SBS program “Healing Camp” PSH has said: “The original house was burned down in a fire so only 3 buildings were left.” His grandmother is still staying at the house but her mobility is limited.
Tight-mouthed aunt – “Unlucky to be caught …”
A little distance from the main building, there was a brick house that seemed to be used as a primary residence. A SUV that looked like it belonged to PSH’s father was parked there. Peering into the glass windows, the reporter saw a woman working there. She is PSH’s aunt.
“Sihoo’s father is not here. He’s gone away on some business. He should be back after a few days.”
She was doing laundry in the yard, and she continued to speak softly:
“It was Grandma’s birthday a little while ago. It’s been a long time since I’ve been back in the countryside, so I’m staying for a while.”
Of course PSH could not come back for his grandmother’s birthday. At first his aunt said nothing and just sighed, and then she seemed to be talking to herself:
“Our Sihoo met with an unfortunate incident …”
She seemed to be much affected by the incident of her nephew.
“How can I feel good with the situation like this? But we will get through this. It will be resolved.”
Her face was full of sorrow but she reiterated it would be resolved. Then she turned her back and could not carry on the conversation anymore.
The village people: Instead of worry, all full of praise
Most of the people the reporter met that day were over 60 years old, all preoccupied with working in the fields.
“Saw on TV what happened to Sihoo. How could something like this happen? Looks like it’s the work of that management company.”
Everywhere the reporter went he heard voices questioning the role of PSH’s former management company. But one thing was impressive — everybody in the neighborhood believed a Park grandchild could not have done something like this. Perhaps it was because of the good reputation the Park family has long established so people here have confidence in them.
“Not so long ago Sihoo came back with 4 or 5 friends to see his grandmother, and he also gave his father an imported car. His grandmother still goes to church every Sunday even though her health is not so good. So Sihoo could not have done something like that.”
There was unanimous praise for the Park family.
“Ever since his grandfather’s time, they have taken care of the villagers and see to it that we are well-fed and well-clothed. A very good person. Anyway, we are sure it will be resolved soon.”
They were full of stories about PSH as a child and everybody started reminiscing.
“Sihoo is a quiet and good child. Look at his father and his grandfather – they are all like that – very nice people.”
And then after a little while the reporter managed to meet PSH’s grandfather (who is not usually visible). He is staying at a detached house some distance from the main house.
Grandfather gives warm impression: “I am not worried.”
In the TV program “Healing Camp” PSH mentioned his grandfather used to go hunting on a horse. Now he looked very old but was still healthy. He was of course troubled by his grandson’s problems but he still greeted the reporter warmly.
“Sihoo’s mother told me over the phone. I did not speak directly with my grandson. [Asked where PSH's mother is now] She has been with him all this time. She left for Seoul soon after Sihoo.”
“[About the accusation against PSH] I heard it reported on TV. But I’m not worried. There’s nothing to worry about. My heart feels calm, and so is Sihoo’s Dad. Our family is like that. And I think it will be resolved well. It should be finished soon.”
He did not hide his affection for the grandson he has watched growing up.
“He came here last year when the weather was not so cold. Now I’d like to see him again.”
The grandson PSH could not come to his grandmother’s birthday this year, but all the village elders and especially PSH’s family believe the case would be resolved soon.
Just before the reporter left the village, PSH’s father called — looked like it’s global roaming. So what PSH’s aunt said was true, that he was away. But what emergency called him away from Korea at this time? Must be that he was not worried, that like other family members, he believed things would be resolved, as they kept saying.

บ้านของเจ้าของที่ดินอันมหาศาล -- บ้านทรง Hanok
มันไม่ง่ายเลยที่จะไปถึงบ้านได้ บ้านที่ปู่ของ PSH เป็นผู้สร้างขึ้นในเขตนอกเมืองออกไป โดยที่ด้านหน้าบ้านจะมองเห็นภูเขาได้ PSH เรียนหนังสือในโรงเรียนประถมที่ห่างออกไปจากบ้านประมาณ 200 เมตร และน้องชายของเขาก็เข้าเรียนในโรงเรียนที่ไม่ไกลจากบ้านมากนัก
บ้านประจำตระกูลของ PSH " Plum Landing " เป็นบ้านทรง Hanok ขนาดใหญ่กว้างxยาวประมาณ 10 x 30 เมตร มีบ่อน้ำขนาดใหญ่ นอกจากบ้านหลักแล้วยังมีตัวอาคารอีกมากมายล้อมรอบอยู่ รวมทั้งห้องน้ำที่อยู่นอกตัวเรือนออกไป และ ส่วนอื่นๆนอกเหนือไปกว่านั้น มันให้บรรยากาศที่เงียบสงบ ตามแบบบ้านโบราณตามชานเมืองนั่นเอง
บ้านนั้นไม่มีรั้วกั้นแต่อย่างใด ดังนั้นใครๆก็สามารถที่จะมองเห็นได้ ในรายการ Healing Camp นั้น PSH ได้กล่าวว่า " บ้านหลังเดิมนั้นถูกๆไฟไหม้ไปหมดแล้วยังคงเหลือเพีียง 3 หลังเท่านั้น " ย่าของเขานั้นยังคงอาศัยอยู่ที่บ้านแต่เธอนั้นเคลื่อนไหวไม่ค่อยสะดวกมากนัก
ป้าที่ที่ปิดปากสนิท --- " โชคไม่ดีที่ถูกพบ ... " ( NK : คิดว่าเขาหมายถึงการที่เธอถูกพบเห็นโดยนักข่าว )
ไม่ไกลจากอาคารหลังใหญ่ จะเป็นบ้านหลักที่สร้างด้วยอิฐซึ่งดูเหมือนจะใช่เป็นบ้านหลังหลักของผู้ที่อาศัยอยู่ที่นั่น รถ SUV จอดอยู่ที่นั่นหนึ่งคันดูเหมือนจะเป็นของพ่อ PSH มองลอดกระจกเข้าไปดูในบ้าน นักข่าวมองเห็นผู้หญิงคนหนึ่งกำลังทำงานอยู่ในนั้น เธอคือป้าของ PSH
" พ่อของ Si Hoo ไม่อยู่ เขาไปทำธุระ เขาคงจะกลับมาในอีก 2-3 วันข้างหน้า "
เธอกำลังซักผ้าอยู่ที่ลานบ้าน และเธอก็ยังคงพูดต่อไปด้วยเสียงที่นุ่มนวล :
เพิ่งเป็นวันเกิดของย่าไปเมื่อไม่นานมานี้ มันนานมากแล้วที่ฉันไม่ได้กลับมาที่ชนบทแบบนี้ และฉันก็คงจะอยู่ไปอีกสักระยะ "
แน่นอนว่า PSH ไม่สามารถที่จะกลับมาร่วมในวันเกิดของย่าของเขาได้ ตอนแรกๆป้าของเขาก็ไม่ยอมที่จะพูดอะไรและเพียงแต่ถอนหายใจ และต่อมาเธอก็ดูเหมือนว่าจะพูดกับตัวเธอเองซะมากกว่า
" Sihoo ของเราได้พบกับเหตุการณ์อันโชคไม่ดี ... "
เธอดูเหมือนว่าจะได้รับผลกระทบกับเรื่องที่เกิดขึ้นกับหลายชายของเธออยู่มากทีเดียว
" ฉันจะรู้สึกดีไปได้อย่างไรกับสถานการณ์อย่างนี้ ? แต่เราจะผ่านมันไปจนได้ มันจะแก้ไขได้จนได้ "
สีหน้าของเธอนั้นเต็มไปด้วยความเศร้าหมองแต่เธอก็ยังคงพูดว่ามันจะต้องมีทางแก้ไขจนได้ และเธอก็หันหลังให้ ไม่สามารถที่จะสนทนาต่อไปได้อีก
ผู้คนในหมู่บ้าน : แทนที่พวกเขาจะเป็นกังวล พวกเขาทั้งหมดกลับเต็มไปด้วยคำสรรเสริญ

ทุกๆที่ๆนักข่าวไปเขาจะได้ยินแต่คำถามเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของ บริษัทเก่านั้น แต่สิ่งหนึ่งที่น่าประทับใจก็คือ --ทุกๆคนในหมู่บ้านต่างเชื่อว่า หลานชายของตระกูล Park จะไม่มีทางทำเรื่องเช่นนั้น บางที่อาจเพราะชื่อเสียงที่ดีงามของตระกูล Park ที่สร้างสมมานานปีทำให้ผู้คนที่นี่มีความมั่นใจในตัวพวกเขา
" เม่ื่อไม่นานมานี้ Sihoo เพิ่งกลับมากับเพื่อน 4-5 คน เพื่อมาหาย่าของเขา และเขาก็ยังให้รถนำเข้ากับพ่อของเขาอีกด้วย ย่าของเขานั้นยังคงไปโบสถ์ทุกวันอาทิตย์แม้ว่าเธอจะมีสุขภาพที่ไม่ดีนักก็ตาม ดังนั้น Sihoo จะไม่มีทางที่จะทำอะไรเช่นนั้น

ปู่ได้ให้ความรู้สึกที่น่าอบอุ่นยิ่งโดยกล่าวว่า " ฉันไม่ห่วงหรอก "
ในรายการ Healing Camp นั้น PSH ได้กล่าวว่าปู่ของเขานั้นเคยออกล่าสัตว์บนหลังม้า ตอนนี้เขาดูแก่มากแล้วแต่ก็ยังมีสุขภาพที่แข็งแรงอยู่ เขานั้นแน่นอนก็ต้องมีกังวลบ้างกับปัญหาของหลานชายของเขาแต่เขาก็ยังต้อนรับนักข่าวด้วยความอบอุ่นอย่างยิ่ง
" แม่ของ Sihoo บอกฉันผ่านทางโทรศัพท์ ฉันไม่ได้คุยกับหลานชายของฉันโดยตรงหรอก [ ถามว่าแม่ของ PSH อยู่ที่ไหน ] เธอนั้นอยู่กับเขาตลอดเวลา เธอไปโซลในทันที่ที่ทราบข่าว Sihoo "
" [ เกี่ยวกับข้อกล่าวหาของ Sihoo ] ฉันได้ยินจากข่าวทาง TV แต่ฉันไม่เป็นห่วงหรอก ไม่มีอะไรที่จะต้องเป็นกังวลเกี่ยวกับมัน หัวใจของฉันนั้นสงบ เช่นเดียวกับพ่อของ Sihoo ครอบครัวของเราก็เป็นอย่างนั้นเอง และฉันก็คิดว่ามันจะได้รับการแก้ไขเป็นอย่างดี มันน่าจะเสร็จสิ่้นในไม่ช้านี้ "

หลานชาย PSH ยังไม่สามารถที่จะมาในวันเกิดของย่าของเขาได้ในปีนี้ แต่ทุกคนทั้งหมู่บ้าน และโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งครอบครัวของ PSH ต่างก็เชื่อว่าคดีนี้จะสามารถแก้ไขได้ในไม่ข้านี้
และเพียงก่อนหน้าที่นักข่าวจะออกจากหมู่บ้านมา พ่อของ PSH ก็เพิ่งโทรเข้ามา -- ดูเหมือนจะเป็นการโทรมาจากต่างประเทศ ดังนั้นที่ป้าของ PSH บอกก่อนหน้านั้นก็เป็นความจริงสิ ที่ว่าเขานั้นไม่อยู่บ้าน แต่มีอะไรที่ด่วนนักหนาที่ทำให้เขาต้องออกไปจากเกาหลีในช่วงเวลาเช่นนี้ มันจะต้องเป็นเพราะเขานั้นไม่กังวลจริงๆ นั้นแหละ เหมือนกับคนอื่นๆในครอบครัวของเขา เขาเชื่อว่าทุกอย่างต้องแก้ไขได้ ดังที่พวกเขาคอยพูดอยู่เช่นนั้น
