A person in the know said: “The shooting of ‘Scent’ is scheduled until mid-February, but there is a possibility the film’s schedule could be carried over,” and “it is difficult to give a definite answer to the homecoming schedule.”

“Scent” also stars Chinese rising star Chen Ran and will be distributed by the China Film Group.

Park Si Hoo “in a state of perfect spiritual concentration”

Park Si Hoo has released this photo of his shooting the Chinese film.

Park Si Hoo on January 8 posted on Weibo (Chinese version of Twitter) two photos taken on set and conveyed his present condition to his fans.

In one of the photos of the day, Park Si Hoo is taking a break during shooting, sitting on a chair and looking at the script in his hands. Shooting is in full swing in China and Park Si Hoo is very enthusiastic after his long period of inactivity.

Local fans’ reactions: “Hard to take a break”, ” Concentrating on script,” “Always support you”, “May movie hit the jackpot!” and other such supportive comments .

After the break in the past few months, Park Si Hoo is now working with a Hong Kong director in this Chinese melodrama “Scent” (working title) in the male lead role of a Korean interior designer Kang In Joon in Shanghai, China.

Park Si Hoo’s Fans Send 10 Million Won Worth of Gifts to Buyeo

Park Si Hoo’s fans from around the world were later reported to have sent gifts to the star’s hometown in Buyeo.

Buyeo country’s local newspaper reported on January 7 that Park Si Hoo’s fans gathered their efforts to send ‘magnanimous gifts.’

According to the news, his fan club ‘Si Hoo Rang’ worked together to send 10 million KRW (~9300 USD) worth of items to help out those in need in Buyeo.

The funds were collected through the fan club’s tenth anniversary charity donation event, which started last October, and over 150 fans from Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan and Hong Kong participated.

The fans decided to use the collected funds to help out his hometown in order to support Park Si Hoo, who has always been generous with his donations to Buyeo and Chungcheong-do.

The funds were mostly used to purchase a kimchi refrigerator, two 40-inch LED TVs, bags of rice and ramen boxes for the welfare facilities for the disabled. Rice and ramen boxes were also distributed to over thirty families in the area.

Buyeo newspaper wrote, “′Buyeo’s son Park Si Hoo′ who went through the most difficult time since his debut, finally resumed his activities by filming a movie in China and his fans also showed their support by giving out the most precious Christmas gifts to those in need.”

The community’s social worker representatives also commented, “We were so glad to be able to help out the families in need. Hallyu star Park Si Hoo’s fan club is just as wonderful as he is.”

We are unable to give a concrete answer on whether Park Shi Hoo will continue with his overseas activities or make a comeback in Korea. We would like to focus entirely on his upcoming movie instead. But we are definitely considering possible activities in Korea definitely.”

Park Shi Hoo is expected to fly to China for filming by the end of the year.

PARK Si-hoo Cast in Chinese Film

The top stars of the Korean film industry are not just in demand at home as these days as many producers overseas are also knocking on their doors. The latest to join their ranks is actors 

PARK Si-hoo, who was recently cast in the Chinese production Perfume (working title). 

 On Monday it was revealed that PARK has boarded the Chinese production Perfume. The project will be helmed by Hong Kong director Jessey TSANG, previously behind the 2011 film Big Blue Lake. PARK will star as a Korean interior designer alongside Chinese actress and fashion icon CHEN Ran. Shooting is expected to commence soon in Shanghai. Location shooting will also take place in Jeju Islands and various locations in China. 

 PARK is a TV star who is well known for his roles in Prosecutor Princess (2010), Queen of Reversals (2011) and The Princess’ Man (2011). Last year, he starred alongside JUNG Jae-young in the hit thriller Confession of Murder from director JUNG Byung-gil. Following Perfume, PARK’s agency has stated the star will be looking to take on another role back in Korea, once the right project comes along.

Park Si-hoo, comeback when?

When will actor Park Si-hoo come back? He' currently stopped all activities domestic and foreign in means of self-reflection but many are curious when he'll be coming back.

Park Si-woo held an exhibit called "The Man Who Was There" in November in Japan. This event will go on for 3 days in Osaka from the 11th of January as well. In the promotional video, Park Si-hoo appears and says, "We meet again thanks to your support".

The exhibit displays his costumes and outfits, accessories, personal items and pictures of his everyday life. He will be displaying items from "The Princess' Man" in Osaka.

He isn't meeting the fans personally but his drama "Cheongdam-dong Alice" is being broadcasted on Hallyu channel KNTV. He's wanted in China as well.

Park Si-woo plans on working his way back to Korea after he starts off overseas.

Park Shi Hoo earned attention in 2013, both for his acting and the long-lasting scandal that may have permanently tarnished his name.

At the beginning of the year, the actor was enjoying the success of his comedy "Cheomdamdung Alice." His film "I Am A Murderer" was due to be released in Japan.

Then in February, an aspiring actress known only as "A" dined with Park Shi Hoo and mutual friends. She then returned to his home, spent the night, and a shortly thereafter accused him of rape. Park Shi Hoo claimed the sex was consensual. The police filed charges against the actor, who in turn countersued the woman and his former manager. He believed that his former manager and the woman conspired to extort money from him and ruin his reputation. The agent countersued Park Shi Hoo for damaging his reputation.

Although the case had not yet been tried, in April, the controversy resulted in his name being taken off the list of contenders for the annual Baeksang Awards. Before his name was removed, he led the popularity poll for male film actors with 47 percent of the votes for his role in the movie "Confession of Murder." The television networks decided not to ban him and await the outcome of the trial.

Although parties in the case deny that a settlement was reached, "A" suddenly dropped her suit against the actor in May. As a result the police had to dismiss their charges against him. A did not explain why she dropped the charges. Besides rumors of a settlement, there was some evidence that she discussed asking Park Shi Hoo for money.

That same month "Confession of a Murder" was released in Japan.

Although Park Shi Hoo dropped his lawsuit against A and his former agent, the agent was not so quick to settle. He requested an apology. That case was finally resolved by mediation. Park Shi Hoo thanked his fans for their support and spent a few months in California, considering foreign film and drama offers. In September he returned to Korea. In October he was nominated for a rookie award at the 50th Grand Bell Awards for his role in "I Am A Murderer." The rookie award was seen as a small step toward reviving his career.

Only those who were present can know whether or not it was rape. And they had reasons to disagree about what happened. Whether the incident was rape or an extortion attempt it does show how easily an actor's reputation can be harmed.
