Chinese movie ‘Scent’

Actor Park Shi Hoo will join upcoming Chinese movie ‘Scent’ (working title).

‘Scent’ will be Park Shi Hoo’s first Chinese film. According to his agency, Park Shi Hoo is ranked highly among top searched Korean celebrities on China’s Sina.com website, and is also highly popular in Japan. Although Park Shi Hoo has received an endless stream of movie offers in Korea, Park Shi Hoo eventually decided on ‘Scent’ to be his comeback piece.

A related official said, “Besides Korea, we have also received offers from China and Japan, and we are thankful for that. Park Shi Hoo had considered all his options cautiously, and his most important criteria is the production’s potential.”

‘Scent’ will be directed by Hong Kong director Jessey Tsang Tsui Shan, whose second feature movie, ‘Big Blue Lake’, won her the Best New Director prize at the ‘2012 Hong Kong Film Awards’. Park Shi Hoo will play the role of an interior designer of Korean ethnicity, Kang In Joon, and star opposite Chinese actress Chen Ran.

As for Park Shi Hoo’s plans after filming ‘Scent’, his agency revealed, “We don’t have any plans at the moment for Park Shi Hoo after ‘Scent’. We are unable to give a concrete answer on whether Park Shi Hoo will continue with his overseas activities or make a comeback in Korea. We would like to focus entirely on his upcoming movie instead. But we are definitely considering possible activities in Korea definitely.”

Park Shi Hoo is expected to fly to China for filming by the end of the year.
